# Cliff & Vesting

A **cliff** is a period before a scheduled token release begins. **Vesting** is the schedule under which a holder gains access to an allocation over time.

For this programme, **TGE is the listing date**. The release schedule uses that date as its reference point. Vesting is linear, with monthly releases.

The published tokenomics lists different cliff and vesting durations for each allocation category. For example, Seed/Early investors has a 12-month cliff and 24 months of vesting. Founding Supporters has a 6-month cliff and 20 months of vesting. The full table appears in [Tokenomics](/milton-token/tokenomics.md).

## Details awaiting confirmation

* Whether the stated vesting duration begins after the cliff or includes it.
* The first unlock date and amount, including any release at TGE or at the end of the cliff.
* The monthly release day and rounding rules.
* The process for claiming MILTON and any transfer restrictions before release.

The reference event and monthly linear release pattern are confirmed. The remaining details are TBD, so this documentation does not assign calendar unlock dates or a circulating-supply schedule. Referral reward claims in USDC are separate from MILTON token releases.
